It has been a while

Since I haven't been on in a while I figured now is a good time. I would first like to say that I am engaged. Don't worry it will be a while before I have to start planning. He is a convert as of Jan 1, 2011. This means I have at least a year before I will be getting married. His name is John Stern, and he grew up in fallon. I met him in my first class, first day of college. However, we didn't start dating until a couple years later. We only dated for nine months and then we broke up, but we were still best friends. So he has been around for about six years now, and we were officially dating for only two and a half months before he proposed. He lives in Utah at the moment for his teaching job, but plans to move back to reno at the end of the school semester in June. No offense I am not the biggest fan of Utah, so I am really glad he is coming back to Reno. I hope that is enough info for the moment about my engagement and my fiance.
I still work for a medical billing office in Reno. I am still an assistant coach for the soccer and basketball teams at Galena, at the moment it is basketball season. I tutor on occasion, and I have all the university ward and foothill ward activities that keep me busy, when I am not at work or basketball. I am still in primary, which I love, and I am the fhe member at the University ward. Both keep me in line, and are amazing callings for me. So overall I am doing pretty well.

Vacation

So sinceI am off to Florida tomorrow with my family it is time to talk a little about my "work all day and didn't get paid" vacation at girls camp this year. I spent a week with my stake at girls camp and I happened to be one of the cooks. Well I think I was more comic relief than a cook, however, that is the name they gave me. I was also a pink panther, which is ironic since I am not so into pink. I have to say it was one of the best weeks ever. I didn't sleep much to say the least, and the sixth years were a main cause of that sleep deprival. I did however learn to cook some amazing dishes and some secrete recipes.
When going to camp my ride was an adventure all in its own, and the Elsmores have lots to do with that. I don't think I will see 911 the same again. Arriving was the same as normal, however moving tables to the kitchen and posting foot prints everywhere was a little different for me. I did meet some amazing girls there though, they happen to make the week brighter. There were a lot of alumni camp girls there and when that happens you just have to join the party. The highlight of the week, well one of them, was the night when I went to bed at 1:30 in the morning and got up a 3:20 for a devotional. It was just really cool to say I was a part, even though it was real early in the morning. The other highlight was the tent on the dock. Let me tell you was not the easiest thing to accomplish at first chance, but it was a blast, oh and there is no evidence of any of it either.
I just have to say even though I worked from about 5 in the morning till at least 11 at night, it was a great experience, and I don't think I have laughed so much in my life ever. Things that happen to cooks with no sleep.
well that is my story of my one week trip, not the whole story just a piece, and now I am off to Disneyworld for another story to tell.

Today

So today is my 22 birthday, and I realize that it is midnight, but that is what makes it fun. So anyway things I have learned in my 22 years are
1. love your family
2. make good friends
3. "Do your homework"
4. give a hundred and ten percent on everything
5. have fun
6. learn
7. grow
8. share the good times with the people around
9. Teach
10. Play hard
11. taking soccer balls to the head is not the best idea
12. Weddings of friends are a common thing
13. Books are actually good for me
14. take in the surroundings
15. volleyball is not that horrible
16. who cares what others think it is what I think that counts
17. Live in the moment
18. nature is amazing
19. "Home is where the heart is"
20. Be like a child
21. it is easy to say no to things that need it
22. nothing is ever done completely, there always seems to be more to improve on.

My list may not be the most intersting or even the greatest things I have learned, but at the moment it is the information I am willing to share. Plus it is only 22 things, that is not enough for even a tiny bit of my life so it will have to do.

Family suprise

So this weekend I flew Langley in from Utah for her bday. The idea was hers I just got her here in town. It was harder than expected. I had to babysit on Saturday for family, and Langley came in the time i was babysitting, however her plane was delayed, so they gave her a choice on what she wanted to do. She came in on Sunday morning which was also another thing i had to figure out, but she got everything arranged so i didn't worry to much. Well the best part of this whole story was we have been planning this for a month and no one knew about it except for me and her so it was hard to keep it a secret from the family. I didn't send out her gifts because she was coming into town so i figured what was the point of sending them in the mail. My mom didn't understand why i didn't send the gifts, but when Langley showed up on sun she figured it out. They were so surprised they didn't know what to do. It also surprised her friends which is always a plus.
It was an eventful weekend to say the least, we need some more weekends like this for family reunions.

The New Year

So it is a new year, and at the moment I am out of school, working full time and coaching. However I get to start soccer again this week which is great since I have been wanting to play for a couple weeks now. My life is about the same as last year at the moment, which is great, I have an idea of how things should go. Since it is a new year I got a new class at church, which is good and bad all at the same time. I love the kids I had for the last year, they were some of the coolest kids I have had the chance to meet, and they were always a joy to see when I went to church. However, with a new class of sunbeams I have a chance to broaden my horizons and teach kids I haven't taught in almost two years. Yes I have been teaching in primary for about four or five years now, which on some levels is a long time, but I love teaching them. I never knew how much joy and excitement kids bring to my life, I thought I had an idea, but I was not even close. Oh and I am getting pretty good with teaching the same lessons over and over again, I can do better this time through since I should know what is going on.

I have grown so much in this last year that I wouldn't even know where to start, not to mention how exciting it is to see all of my friends getting married, engaged, having babies, or going for their dreams. I sometimes wonder what is going on, since it seems to be going really fast. I do congratulate all of them since I don't get to see them all of the time and it is hard to talk to them at the time they happen.

I got to spend the last couple of weeks with almost the whole family because of the holidays so it things where interesting especially since who knows what is going to happen. It was a lot of fun though so I didn't have a problem with it, and having Langley around again to pick on is fun also. I haven't got to do that for the last couple months, and when she was home for other holidays it just was not long enough. Now all I have to do is start the new semester of school off with a good start and I will have to see how it goes from there.

Not much

So this is the beginning of my boring life on a blog, which can be hectic when it wants to. However I am just going to start with some info about me. I do attend the University of Nevada Reno, however as it goes right now I hope to gradute soon, who knows what I am going to do then. I don't just occupy my time with school though, I work at a medical billing office as well between classes, and I coach up at Galena for soccer and basketball varsity girls. That is still not all however, I tutor for math and sometimes spanish ( which is funny since I am not good at spanish) and I babysit of occasion.
Lately I have been playing and watching a lot of soccer, but in either case I have a blast. Oh I have to say I do enjoy playing rock band with the family, if that is not entertaining I am not sure what is, especially when Langley is the singer, it is a great family bonding experience. Not to mention we are mostly deaf by the time we are done that who knows what is going on then.
well that is about all in my life as it stands, however things seem to come up frequently I am never bored.
